Conference feedback

Thank you for an interesting and imformative event. Enjoyed it and got a lot of good tips for the future.
Thanks again!

I particularly appreciated the last talk about basics of CAT tools for "newcomers".

I am extremely satisfied with the webinar and the answers to my questions.
Thanks a million.

Hi, thanks for putting this on. I just have one comment- in the "day in the life of a translator" segment, the visual was unclear- like unreadable unclear. I kept changing size of the display expecting it to clear up but it never did. Not sure what the situation was there but it wasn't worth watching what Massimilian was doing if I couldn't see it. Perhaps it had to do with so many people streaming it at once or a crummy connection on my end, not sure. Again, thanks for putting it on.

11:05 May 28, 2014 Sandor Papp: 1193492 All Hey, Joao, great to see you here, too ;-)
11:07 May 28, 2014 Sandor Papp: 1193492 All hope to hear from you soon, Alexander. by for now

11:11 May 28, 2014 Gergely Vandor: 626844 All Hello. Somebody asked something like this before I came: "Is it possible to download files from memoQ server, translate them using any other CAT tool and upload them back to the server? Any issues?"
11:11 May 28, 2014 Roberto Silva: 63936 All It was me Gergely.
11:12 May 28, 2014 Sandor Papp: 1193492 All Hi Gergely, thanks. Roberto Silva has just raised it
11:12 May 28, 2014 Gergely Vandor: 626844 All Answer: yes, it is possible. You can "download" into XLIFF format, or Trados bilingual DOC, and have that translated in other tools. When finished, you can update the memoQ project.
11:13 May 28, 2014 Gergely Vandor: 626844 All By XLIFF here I mean memOQXLIFF, which is XLIFF with memOQ specific extensions.
11:13 May 28, 2014 Roberto Silva: 63936 All So the XLIFF file is 100% compatible with other CAT tools.
11:14 May 28, 2014 Gergely Vandor: 626844 All Yes. A tool that claims to have XLIFF support must be able to translate it.
11:14 May 28, 2014 João Seco: 1708040 All But Gergely, you must rename the extension to .xlf for it to work in Studio, for example, correct?
11:14 May 28, 2014 Roberto Silva: 63936 All Sounds good. Thanks.
11:16 May 28, 2014 Gergely Vandor: 626844 All About "100% compatibility": you'll be able to transalte in all XLIFF compatible tools, but some memoQ specific features of the document may not be available, depeding on your tool.
11:16 May 28, 2014 Gergely Vandor: 626844 All I hear Trados Studio has recently added some sort of support for memoQ specific XLIFF "extensions".
11:18 May 28, 2014 João Seco: 1708040 All Great, thanks
11:19 May 28, 2014 Ju Chaad: 1143758 All Hi Sandor, how are you?
11:20 May 28, 2014 Roberto Silva: 63936 All Yeah, that is what I meant. Each CAT tool creates it own version of the XLIFF file. As long as the import filters are OK, I am not worried about that.
11:20 May 28, 2014 Ju Chaad: 1143758 All Yes, Iam ate MilkTrados International in Haarlem now with other projects.
11:20 May 28, 2014 Roberto Silva: 63936 All I was more concern about the need to upload files to the server in a format different from XLIFF. For instance, a project package or something similar.
11:20 May 28, 2014 Ju Chaad: 1143758 All little bit with distance the translations projects for this year.
11:21 May 28, 2014 Sandor Papp: 1193492 All Hi Everyone, welcome to the chat room! Feel free to raise your questions if you have any

11:22 May 28, 2014 Sandor Papp: 1193492 All Haarlem is just a lovely place, a very very good choice I must say :)
11:22 May 28, 2014 Sandor Papp: 1193492 All do you plan to go back to Brazil sometime, or will that be a longer project for you?
11:23 May 28, 2014 Marjolijn du Jour: 1353772 All Hi all, Hi Sandor, nice to meet you today in this chatroom! I Is it possible to get a paper memoQmanuel ?
