Aha! Thanks Kate. I hadn't seen your other entries, since I have only just come on line after a few hours off (altho' the moral of the story would be "always give context"...).

And this context was NOT what I was expecting, so I was heading in the wrong direction. Seems to confirm that the rest of my colleagues are on the right track!

It is the title of a university undergraduate thesis as part of the CV of the Head of an Assisted Reproduction Unit. Sorry, of course this would have helped - I have sent quite a few posts on the same topic i.e. translation of CVs of people in this field, so I guess I just forgot to give the actual context - sorry. Apart from that, I have no context about the actual thesis and what it contains/is about.

Sorry Kate, but "that's all the context" is like a red rag to a bull as far as I'm concerned!

A couple of questions:
Is there any mention (in the supposedly non-existent rest of your text) of frequency of incidence of certain conditions?
Is this frequency compared to other frequencies, or anything along those lines?
If it's a website, what is the title of the page we're on? Or the tab?
Is there any heading to any part of the page you're on?

Of course, if it's a string, then we may have to search hard for context, but looking closely, we may find some.

I would need some more context to be 100% sure, but "en nuestro medio" is often used to refer to the social/demographic/geographic environment in which the doctors or researchers work.
