Perhaps it's worthwhile to spell out that what was contradicted was a finding (вывод) evidently within the same case?
If you do wish to translate all the qualifying phrases (практические, косвенно), a version without "effect" where I put it might be better:
"Thus, in effect, the court implicitly overrode its own finding that..."
Or, "indirectly" rather than "implicitly." Oh, "indirectly overrode"! Sounds awful for a racetrack description, but it might fly in legalese.

But in my experience, Russian courts are tough to deal with when it comes to inconsistencies like these. The person here must be trying to do just that, throw the book at them.
