neutral Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) : I really don't think you can just translate the adjective here..you have to parse the phrase in its entirety

"Prescribed Term"

É referente ao prazo pré-definido na Lei (para apresentar uma defesa perante um tribunal, por exemplo)
Yo diría "the prescribed has not yet elapsed" tendría que ver todo el texto abajo del título.

prescription

Law. The limitation of time beyond which an action, debt, or crime is no longer valid or enforceable.

In my legal studies, the term was prescription / period of prescription - dictionary definition above - although I am aware not all jurisdictions employ this term

As Jane say, statute of limitation for US English

A statute applying to both civil and criminal cases which requires suit or prosecution within a prescribed period of time following the civil injury or the date of the crime

thanks
agree Ana Rita Santiago : Now that the context is available, we can see that it refers to "prescrição punitiva", that is if prescribed the crime is no longer enforceable. I believe "time bar" is usually used in civil matters, when a contract defines a time bar limit.

thanks/prescription aplies to both criminal and civil - time limit for prosecution or instituting action respectively
neutral Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) : statute of limitation, no? :) question for Anarita; when a crime is not enforceable??

prescription is a general legal term referring to the expiry of any time limitation in law - statute of limitations for US English sure, again not applicable everywhere
