I get the 'parentes até ao 2º grau da linha recta' means, in real speak, parents, grandparents, children and grandchildren, but what's the rest? Cousins to the third degree? Whatever that is...

lineal and collateral relatives up to the third degree of consanguinity or affinity.

this is the whole phrase that I have heard covers cases like this. Might help.
