German term

Freizeithaltestelle

German to English Other Transport / Transportation / Shipping Swiss High German: Swiss Public Transport
What we need here is UK English.

My guess is that a Freizeithaltestelle is what a Bedarfshaltestelle is in Germany. -> Leisure time request stop?

No context avlble.

Any ideas are much appreciated.

railway station after all? Best ask client? That changes my thinking. I'd assumed it was probably a motorway rest stop.
If at all possible, it sounds rather like "ask the client for clarification" time to me. Given lack of context and very few search results on web.
When I tried Google Image, I got mostly pictures of trains. Big modern ones. This surprises me because "Freizeit" suggested a station on one of the little steam locomotive railways for trippers that exist in the UK (there's one called the "Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Line" near where I live. Some of them are *run* by people in their leisure time too).

I suppose there's no mention of *where* this Freizeithaltestelle is? If there were, perhaps you could look it up (e. g. on Google Maps) and see if there's a railway station there?

Thanks Andrew (well, I was actually aware of that) (It's that I do not speak nor write UK English other than when the customer requests it for a job)

Dcoument seems to talk about railroad travel mostly and also in that particular section

Is it what I think it is?
No context available - do you know what kind of vehicle uses this kind of stop (coaches, cars, lorries?) Can we definitely rule out "railway station for pleasure trips"?

Speaking as a UK English speaker, we generally call those places where motorists on long trips stop off for petrol, food etc. "a motorway services", although "rest stop" is quite acceptable and probably safer.

I suppose you've looked at these

Bedarfshaltestelle is surely a request stop?

American references here; GB doesn't do Freizeithaltestellen, as far as I know. Sorry to use the 's' word again. However, I suspect that railcard is the better term for your previous Q anyway.

Freizeithaltestelle-->touristische Ziele
