German term

entfaltet

German to English Medical Medical (general) imaging
CT scan.

"Rec. piriformis li. vemindert entfaltet."

What would be the best word in the ENT contxt? "Expanded" does not seem to work here.
Proposed translations (English)

2 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Underdeveloped, in a sense, yes, so I'll go with "narrower". But thanks for the idea!"

German term (edited): vermindert entfaltet

smaller/narrower

Here is a lovely picture:

The piriform fossa being a space, I would take "vermindert entfaltet" to mean that it is smaller/narrower on the left than on the right.

Exactly the case in the link above!
Note from asker:
Thank you, SJLD, for your answer. I used your idea ('narrower') but awarded 2 points to Ellen for the initial idea of [under]development. I am sure it's OK with you :) And yes, a nice picture. Especially because it is from the med school which I attended :)
