Alright, but how would the capital market maturity idea fit in in the actual translation? I am not sure how that would read...

prepare company for capital markets/ an IPO

No need to stick to the same level of abstraction in the target language. That's fine for German but doesn't work in English.

capital-market ready

disagree BrigitteHilgner : Aua! If you really want to stick to this construction, I dare say "readiness" would be more appropriate - but even that would sound rather odd.

obtain the necessary authorisations to issue shares or bonds that may be traded on securities exch.

... issue shares or bonds with medium and long-term maturities (of 1 year and up) that may be traded on securities exchanges.

This is just a guess based on the special way the sentence is phrased "veranlassten den Verwaltungsrat im dazu, die Kapitalmarktreife für den weiteren Entwicklungs- und Wachstumsweg des Unternehmens zu erlangen."

I think the authorisations part (noone may just float shares on the sxe because they would like to, you need to apply for that with special authorities) is important for the whole sentence to make sense in the end.

By the way, I think it might really just means an IPO (even though I'm not sure about this last bit), so maybe the whole technical capital market definition doesn't really come into the picture. Many people use capital market (slightly inaccurately because as hinted at the CM is many times broader than the stock market) when they really just want to say "float shares on the stock exchange".
