German term

Direktversicherungen

German to English Bus/Financial Accounting GmbH directors\' benefits
This is from a GmbH's management report and refers to director's benefits - listed after the Geschäftsführergehälter are Nebenleistungen: KFZ, **Direktversicherungen**, Pensionszusagen, Mieten along with the appropriate amounts.

I assume these are payments into pension policies taken out on the directors' lives - but I can't find a specific term for Direktversicherungen in English in this context. Is it safe to simply render this as "pension contributions"?

TIA,
Ian

Hi Ian: Deka Bank has a de/en website where "Direktversicherung" is explained ... and translated with "direct insurance" http://www.dekabank.de/db/en/vorsorgemanagement/direktversic...
For de just put de instead of en in the above link. HTH

Thanks for answers thus far.
@Nicole: I should perhaps have said - but assumed I didn't need to ;-) - that I've already spent some time with dicos (including Leo) and glossaries, but haven't been able to find 100% confirmation that pension plan payments/contributions is the right option in this context. It may well be, but I'd like to be sure.
@becktrad: this would clearly be right if "Direkt-" was referring to the method of marketing an insurance policy, but I've not found any evidence for it being correct in my context. Have you?

2 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks everyone. "Direct insurances" is probably the best single option for this context, although the dictionary entries may not be sufficiently up-to-date to be relied upon here and "pension plan contributions" would not IMO have been wrong. I did manage to find some evidence for the term "direct insurance" being used in this context, though, e.g. http://www.watsonwyatt.com/news/globalnews2.asp?ID=13263&nm=Europe"
