French term

pour alimenter en commandes notre usine

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Unions
I would really appreciate help to translate the whole of the following sentence. It's about union reactions to the arrest of French employees in USA: "Nous n'acceptons pas qu'ils soient maintenus en exil de l'autre coté de l'Atlantique, alors qu'ils oeuvraient pour alimenter en commandes notre usine dans le contexte particulier de ce marché"

A little clarification.... I am NOT fluent in French....I am working on a Scandinavian text that includes a little French. That's why I'm asking questions about relatively simple stuff :-)

to supply our factory with orders

or phps "... keep our factory supplied ..."

So whole sentence something along these lines:
"We cannot accept them being exiled [detained] on the other side of the Atlantic when they were working to keep our factory supplied with orders in the particular context of this market."
(last bit sounds pretty clunky, but so does the source)

On reflection, the basic message, I think, is:

to keep our factory going (or operating, or working)

to keep our production staff in jobs
