I need some help. It's a short story.
These were the words that came to my mind. But I'm not convinced. What do you think? Any other possibility?
Many thanks in advance.
Life might prepare you to ______ with your thoughts the asteroids around Jupiter without crashing them down.

control
but not "with your thoughts" as it's not idiomatic
I assume you mean
control with your mind
I don't see how the other 2 verbs would work but perhaps you could explain a bit more what you actually want to say?
Also "without crashing them down" >>>>> without bringing them crashing down..

steer
I'd use 'steer' rather than any of Asker's options, as it implies 'control to follow a chosen path', whilst 'control' alone is less specific.
And I'd change the word order as per Yvonne's suggestion.
Thus:
Life might prepare you to steer the asteroids around Jupiter with your thoughts, without crashing them down.
'drive' would also work.

"to ______ with your thoughts the asteroids around Jupiter" is certainly not plain boring reality ...
control the asteroids around Jupiter with your mind without bringing them crashing down
Is this Sci Fi?
