hiero-deacon or hierodeacon - a holy or sacred cleric
I have heard the word "hiero-monk" in connection with the Orthodox Church... For a start, I've done a bit of “word-stitching”.(Encarta Dictionary)
1: hiero - (prefix)meaning:
holy, sacred
2: deacon:
a:in the Roman Catholic, Orthodox, and Anglican Churches, an ordained member of the clergy with a rank immediately below that of a priest.
b:in many Protestant churches, a lay person who is appointed or elected to assist the minister.
