Hi everyone,
I found this expression in an article about coal power plants who should adopt new technologies to be more green.
Here is my sentence:
"As part of an ambitious buyout deal, X will abandon plans to build eight old-style coal- burning power plants, which would have dumped huge amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere"
I found many hits on Google, but no explanation.. Could you please help me?

Comment: "Many thanks to all of you!! You must be right. I misinterpreted the structure of the sentence.. There were so many hits on Google that I thought it had to be an expression.. But I guess they are all talking about 8 things that are old fashioned ;)

Il s’agirait là de la plus grande vague de constructions axées sur le charbon depuis des années. TXU utilisera-t-elle la nouvelle technique de combustion ? La réponse est négative. Elle continuera comme autrefois à broyer du charbon parce que, d’après elle, les vieux modèles de centrales sont plus fiables. Mais la véritable raison pour laquelle elle préfère les centrales à l’ancienne est que celles-ci sont plus faciles à construire, moins chères à faire fonctionner et, enfin, beaucoup plus rentables.
