English term

a social engineer

English to French Tech/Engineering Computers (general)
***Social engineers*** may send spam or phishing emails to trick you into clicking a link, logging in to an account, or sharing sensitive information directly with them.
These emails usually contain links to web pages that look legitimate – and may even mimic sites you use for work but they are actually dangerous spoofed web pages the ***social engineer*** has created to trick you.

English term (edited): social engineer

manipulateur social

Par analogie avec social engineering (= manipulation sociale).
Peer comment(s):

neutral Daryo : the analogy is not a good one - the other kind of social engendering is full of "good intentions" (leading to ...) while in hacking it's a method of deliberate deception, rather ill intent involved.
