Counterpart Japanese for the "dull" is almost synonymous to its English usage, namely "unclear", "stupid", "not sharp". Since we are talking about knife, the choice is evident. The "knife" can be sword, carving knife, pocket knife, all depends on the size. To be on safe side my choice is ナイフ.
