مع الإشارة إلى أن الكثير داب على إستخدام المصطلحين كمترادفات إلا أنه يمكن القول أن الجندر له مفاهيم أبعد بإعتباره يغطي ما يتعلق بالجنس من الناحية البيولوجية وكذلك الأدوار المرتبطة المؤسسة على المفاهيم الثقافية الإجتماعية والدينية وسواها.
