Inspect perpendicularity with Comparator and V-block
Perpendicularity is checked by placing the part to be inspected in the "Vee" slot of a precision "V-block", then passing the comparator's dial indicator over the part. See URL for pictures of some V-blocks
See Termium for Vé = V-block

angle block or sine block
are possibilities.
The plumb of WHAT is being measured? Or is it perpendicularity in the sense of "perpendicular (at right angles) to" some other part rather than "vertical"?
Sine blocks might be involved if they are checking that the tapered bore of a valve is at right angles to the valve seat, etc.
