ABC’s response is instantaneous. “Because it doesn’t take much initiative or creativity.” I notice ABC doesn’t always have to support XYZ—or defend herself. She can say it straight. XYZ nods wistfully in agreement. “When sex is good, we usually don’t try again soon. I worry that it won’t be as good the next time,” he confesses.
“For me it’s just the opposite,” ABC says. “When it’s good I’m more hopeful, but then I don’t act on it.”
“Why don’t you?” I ask, adding, “not that you’re supposed to.”
“I don’t know. Sometimes I think about it before XYZ gets home, but I lose it when he’s here.”


La respuesta de ABC es inmediata. “Porque no hay que tener mucha iniciativa ni creatividad”. Me fijo que ABAC no tiene que apoyar a XYZ siempre – ni tampoco defenderse a sí misma. Puede decirlo como eso. XYZ hace un gesto de aprobación tristemente con la cabeza “Cuando tenemos el sexo bueno, normalmente no lo hacemos otra vez dentro de poco. Me inquieta que no sea tan bueno la próxima vez”, confiesa.
“Para mí es el opuesto completo”, dice ABC. “Cuando está bueno, estoy más optimista, pero luego no actúo en consecuencia”.
¿“Por qué no”? Agrego, “no que deberías”.
“No lo sé. A veces lo pienso antes de que XYZ llegue a casa, pero me quitan las ganas cuando esté aquí”.
