German term

buchmäßige Erfassung

German to English Bus/Financial Law: Taxation & Customs
From a letter from an Austrian Zollamt regarding customs charges incurred in importing goods from Rumania into Austria:

"Von der buchmässigen Erfassung der Gesamtsumme der Abgabenbeträge wird...abgesehen. Das Aufschubkonto wird mit dem ausgewiesenem Abgabenbetrag nicht belastet"

I understand that the charges are being waived (they come to a total of EUR 1.80!), but does anybody know the proper accounting term to use here?

TIA!

You can find the terms translated on an official customs site:

More specifically, as per those pages:
"wird von der nachträglichen buchmäßigen Erfassung abgesehen" =
"entry of the import or export duties in the accounts is waived"

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks, that's what I thought - and thanks to Ingeborg too!"

the fee will not be recorded in the books

probably because the red tape and effort it would involve is simply no worht the money that they can collect.
