thebigword has more than 30 years' experience in translating and interpreting for a variety of industries across almost every living language. During this time, we have recognised the need for, and have established, a global team of translators and interpreters who are specialists in every business sector. Consequently, not only do we understand language and culture, we have the technical background and experience in your industry.

How can we …
Teach millions of people how to treat cholera and diarrhea? Help millions of mothers breastfeed successfully? Unlock global knowledge for those who need it?

The answer is simple: Language.

For millions, language is the only barrier to knowledge. How would you like to receive a medical diagnosis in a language you barely understand?

Access to information in the right language saves lives. Translators without Borders,
http://www.translatorswithoutborders.org is making great strides toward more access. This year, with the help of our sponsors and stellar volunteers, we have:

  • Translated more than 5 million words translated—and we translate more every month!
  • Opened the first healthcare translator training center, set up in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • Translated health information that is now available in videos and on mobile devices in India and Africa.

  • Translators without Borders works closely with ProZ.com. The Translators without Borders Workspace, which connects professional volunteer translators to non-profits needing translations, is powered by ProZ.com.

Interested in volunteering? If you are member of ProZ.com's Certified PRO Network or have been certified by the American Translators Association or an equivalent association you can qualify to be a Translators without Borders translator right away. We currently are in need of many language pairs including English - French, French - English, Spanish – French. In addition any languages from Africa and Asia, to launch the Wikipedia project, are very welcome.
