About 100 people rallied near the Ukrainian Parliament in Kiev, Monday, to protest against the adoption of the new law on languages, which enhances the use of Russian significantly.
The protesters showed banners with slogans against the law of Russian – Ukrainian bilingualism. The slogans encouraged people to learn Ukrainian, not to “take away Ukrainian children’s mother tongues”, and linked the issue to energy disputes between Ukraine and Russia.
Participants to the rally stated that with a law on Ukrainian – Russian bilingualism, Ukrainian will quickly disappear from schools, television, films and books. They urged the authorities to concentrate on the urgent social problems Ukraine is currently facing.

Thus when they make Russian a second official language, you can believe me that Ukrainian will vanish, for 60% is more than 20%. Or, alternatively it will be a language of in-house communication.
That is why the status quo should be kept, i.e. when Russian is not an official language but it is widely used in everyday life, with no one protesting against such situation.

The fact is that Ukrainian is a language which is a mother tongue to some 20% of the population. I am talking about pure Ukrainian, not a mixture of Ukrainian and Russian. Russian is a mother language for at least 60% of the population. The rest 20% speak a mixture of Ukrainian and Russian.
Do not spread your self-deception, please. Ignorance is not an argument. How do measure/weight/taste/smell that "pure Ukrainian"? I'm afraid in your city the real picture is probably not visible.
Surely, you belong to that "majority", which is -- allegedly -- 60%. Indeed, a renewal of killing/starving so-called "minority" is possible with new methods.
I do agree with this conclusion. (But the argumentation has been wrong).
