What is a tech stack? 10:21

I really do not understand the question. How precisely do you define a Language Service Provider? And I don´t know what a tech stack is, so please forgive me if my answer is off topic.

I am a freelancer who prefers to work with small agencies. (We all provide language services one way or another.) I am a freelancer who prefers to work with small agencies. (We all provide language services one way or another.) My clients do not develop much of their own technology, but collaborate with others as required, who use tried and tested technology where necessary. They respect the human touch instead of trying to automate everything.

In my experience, several of the CAT tools developed by agencies are clunky and a pain to use, while they are not compatible with other technology, and they do not always allow the translator to couple his/her own memories and databases to a project - and that is where I collect my years of experience. Without them, I have to spend time searching like any other rookie!

It is no secret that I use Trados, and have spent time and effort learning to fine-tune it and reap as many advantages from it as possible. So have many others, both agencies and translators, and I believe we all benefit from sharing the same technology.

Freelancers are not tied to individual agencies, or forced to use many different tools.

Developments need to be coordinated, and there is no need to re-invent the wheel every time!

I hate abbreviations so much that I've been compiling them over the years and today I have a bulky book of... 652 pages (Times New Roman 10, single spaced). One of these abbreviations has 31 different meanings in Portuguese!!! In addition, to a recent Quick Poll I answered that «acquiring new technical skills» was what I found most challenging in translation. So, I had to look what «tech stack» means…

quite unclear question 11:05

I suppose LSPs are agencies, while "tech stack" is a bit vague in this context, so we can guess that CAT tools and LLMs are meant.
