It was the very first CAT I became familiar with and it made me ever so much less scared of translator software.
I also appreciate the access to high-class OCR service, which is free up to a point and afterwards very reasonably priced.

iamtanja . I use the tool for quite a long time and I see how it is becoming better. SmartCAT has a very friendly interface which makes it easy for my younger colleagues to begin to work with.
As for me, it is very important that the support team replies immediately. I see how quickly they fix and improve the issues, change things according to user's suggestions.

For example, you don’t need to match original text and translated text, the smart cat think and does it instead you. I recommend

boris lee . SmartCAT turned out to be a very easy to learn and really convenient tool compatible with a wide range of file formats. Being web-based it works equally fine on Mac and PC.
Advantages:
- at first you are given 100 pages of machine translation and text recognition
- free (you only buy pages of machine translation and text recognition);
- easy TM and glossary export/import;
- detailed project statistics;
- responsive and helpful support service.
- always at hand
- not a huge software package
Disadvantages:
- TM units are displayed incorrectly in some browsers (in Yandex Browser), so I had to start using FireFox or Chrome.
