Multitasker par excellence: I write academic texts and copy, translate between English and Greek, teach children and adults to write, paint portraits, and organise conferences, exhibitions and rock concerts. Simultaneously.
Over the last 10 or so years I've been utilizing my training and skills to where business and pleasure merge. I'm trained in Fine Art, Communications and PR, English Literature and History of Western Esotericism. This diversity of interests is reflected in my professional life, as you will see below.
Throw me an idea and I'll write a play, story, brochure or book, paint a picture or design a poster. I make things happen and find ways through mazes when organization, coordination and a cool head are key. From the sophisticated to the gritty and from cocktail parties to symposia, I can adapt and spin words, images, and presentations according to the occasion.
Being bilingual, I have been translating professionally between English and Greek since 1999. I can translate at any level, from the colloquial to the highly academic or technical. The Greek version of http://www.steelframebuild.com/ is all my own work, and my translations of medical texts are in the University of Piraeus library.
Writing/editing:
I can manipulate words and ideas to say what you want them to say; from sharp and concise to subtle and persuasive. I can cut, rework and summarise without losing meaning, or expand and elaborate without being fluffy. Throw me an idea and I'll write you an article, chapter, paragraph or one-liner and give you three alternatives to play with.
Academic writing:
I have written two chapters for the new edition of Leon Chaitow's book 'Palpation and Assessment Skills', (3rd edition, in press) an academic textbook aimed at manual therapy students/professionals.
I have just been awarded my second MA and am very comfortable with academic writing, 5 different styles of footnoting, and how to research fast and accurately. I have several speaking engagements at academic conferences and also write for a peer review journal as well as for Avaton Magazine on a freelance basis.
See my blog: http://sashanonserviat.blogspot.com for a slightly more laid-back version of how I can write.
Another current project is reworking/ghostwriting a book on experiential spirituality; currently under way. |
