My name is Julien Neel. I was born in Belgium in 1957 and my native language is flamish/dutch. Untill September 2001, I was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the Belgian Army. I left the army on a voluntary base in order to live in Brazil-Rio Grande do Norte- Natal. Reason for leaving the Belgian Army was my marriage with my Brazilian wife Gleide Margarethe Regis de Castro, who is a Director in the Court of Justice in Natal. Some of my experiences in Belgian Army are: The Royal Military Academy in Brussels ( 5 years), Commanding an infantry platoon, Instructing NCOs, Commanding an infantry company, Royal Military Staff Course in Brussels (1 year), Staff functions in national an international headquarters, the Joint Services Command and Staff College in Bracknel (UK) (1 year), Intelligence and Security Officer in the UN peace keeping mission UNTAES in Croatia (1 year), European Community oberserver in Albania and Croatia ( 3 months), Commander of the School for Intelligence and Security of the Belgian Groundforces.
Since 2002 I work in Natal as a translator/interpreter accredited by the local government. My native language is Dutch-Flamish and I do translations in Dutch (Flamish), Portugues, French, English and German.
