Bio
Secondary School National College of Buenos Aires, definitely marked me with an inclination to languages. Latin, English, French, short incursion into Portuguese and Italian.
Perhaps Industrial Engineering was not the right choice. After approving 2nd year I got caught up by Judo, the leading thread that gradually drove me into the Oriental Culture.
Japanese Language, Macrobiotics, Zen literature, Zazen practice, were milestones in the quest. Eventually, a two and a half years´stage in Japan begun with Japan Foundation´s ‘Two weeks Intensive Course in Japan for Overseas Japanese Language Outstanding Students’. Just the right occasion to gather up all the bibliography I needed to accomplish a self directed study on Kanji. More precisely, a research on Kanji Professor Todo Akiyasu´s written work, since in Argentina I had already had an encounter with his Reikai Kanji Gakushu Jiten (Illustrated Dictionary for the Study of Kanji), the one example that was enough for me to recognize the excellency in vocabulary accuracy I was to strive for.
The second stage lasted another two and a half years, with a work of Japanese-Spanish translator as local clerk of the Argentina Embassy in Japan.
Back in my country, I was honoured with the collaboration in the compiling of the Kyoren Shokyu Wasei Jiten (Kyoren Japanese-Spanish Dictionary for Beginners, where Kyoren is the short form for ‘Japanese Language Institutes Federation in Argentina’ ). Also, the collaboration in the Japanese-Spanish translation of the Aruzentin Nihon Iminshi-Nikan (History of the Japanese Immigration in Argentina, Second Volume), among other works.
Independent research based on Professor Todo Akiyasu´s work, produced: "Kanji, la Escritura Sino-Japonesa" (Kanji, the Japanese Writing of Chinese Origin. Learners´ Training Method), registered at the Author´s Wrights National Department, File Number 548623.
Since 2007 I dictate a Japanese Writing Workshop, at the Cultural Extension Department in the National College of Buenos Aires.
