Portuguese to English: PROCEDIMENTO PARA INSTALAÇÃO DE LINHAS FLEXÍVEIS General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Petroleum Eng/Sci
Source text - Portuguese PROCEDIMENTO PARA INSTALAÇÃO DE LINHAS FLEXÍVEIS EM UNIDADES FLUTUANTES COM A CONFIGURAÇÃO "LAZY - S" COM SISTEMA
“SELA DE APOIO”
I – INTRODUÇÃO:
Translation - English PROCEDURE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF "LAZY - S" CONFIGURATION FLEXIBLE LINES IN FLOATING UNITS OF THROUGH “SUPPORT SADDLE” SYSTEM
I – INTRODUCTION:
This is a simplified procedure for the installation of a subsea interconnection system called “Lazy-S”, which aims to interconnect two floating systems (FPSO and Rig) by making use of a “Support Saddle” type support system to the riser.
The subsea interconnection system called Lazy-S is comprised of a floating tank with a cradle (support saddle) for the line to be supported on it, which will be anchored on a dead weight fixed on the bottom, and of risers, that will provide the interconnection between the floating and flow systems through the risers.
This system installation main function is to allow the mobility of the floating system through the tides movement and current so that the riser does not undergo excessive compression or stress actions.
II – PRELIMINARY ACTIONS:
Determine the vessel correct positioning in DGPS, by calibrating the system to a known fixed point , close to the operation location.
Carry out the “pre-lay survey” of the area where the system will be installed, by recording the depths and lines launching possible obstacles, including the FPSO´s and Rig´s mooring cables, among which the vessel will operate.
Determine FPSO´s and Rig´s position through radar waves, by verifying any discrepancy foreseen neutral position project coordinates.
Certify if one has carried out a previous installation of the support system to the “Saddle” lines.
Certify that the ROV is under operation with transponder installed at frequencies different from the ones used by the FPSO and Rig, in order to follow-up all steps of the operation.

Sequence the installation of materials to avoid contamination of absorptive materials, such as insulation, carpeting, ceiling tile and gypsum wallboard. Coordinate with IEQ Credit 3.2: Construction IAQ Management Plan – Before Occupancy and IEQ Credit 5: Indoor Chemical & Pollutant Source Control to determine the appropriate specifications and schedules for filtration media.
Construction IAQ management plan - during construction.
If possible, avoid using permanently installed air handlers for temporary heating/cooling during construction. Consult the LEED Reference Guide for Green Interior Design and Construction, 2009 Edition for more detailed information on how to ensure the well-being of construction workers and building occupants if permanently installed air handlers must be used during construction.

Bio
I majored in Languages - Portuguese (Brazil)/English Languages and Literatures and Post-graduated in Theory and Practice of Higher Education. I have also got the Cambridge TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) Certificate and have been teching English since 1978. As a translator and interpeter, I have worked for 15 years in the Oil and Gas and Maritime Industry translating procedures, bidding documents, manuals and other documents related to the segment (Commissioning, Procurement, Start-up, Engineering, Planning, Quality,Health,Safety and Enviroment, Human Resources, Production (welding, calibration, piping, electric, instrumentation, etc). Due to such mentioned experience, I started working as an employee at the Planning Department of some of the biggest Oil&Gas and Construction companies of Brazil. which made me study and translate many documents regarding Project Management based on the PMBoK. I have got the LEED GA Certificate and an MBA degree in Sustainable Buildings Construction, and therefore, I am updated regarding LEED specific terminology related to Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environment. Besides the above mentioned qualifications, I have also got the Interior Design degree and currently have been attending an Architecture and Urbanism University course.
