Reliability Recommendations
This section will explore a number of design changes that can be implemented into one or a number of existing PCB designs that XXXXXX currently markets. Many suggestions can be carried forward, and are applicable, to future designs as well.
Specific short-term recommendations
• Eliminate the microprocessor socket. The microprocessors are not a field-replaceable unit by themselves. The socket not only adds expense (socket hardware and cost to hand insert the processor) but decreases reliability. If a socket is still used, consider switching to machined pin type. These are more reliable than the wipe types.
• Design in lower impedance circuitry when at all possible. There are a number of places where impedances of the circuitry can be reduced. This will reduce the effects of contamination and other environmental factors on the PCB. Replace all pull ups and pull downs with as small a resistor as possible. Reduce series resistors (used to multiplex some lines) as well.
• Make sure that the internal watch-dog integral to the processor is being used and implemented.
• Pay careful attention to high impedance areas such as the ceramic resonator area. Consider conformal coating of the entire, or portions, of the board where high impedance circuits exist.
• Consider replacing varistors with faster acting, higher current rated parts that do not degrade in performance over time such as thyristors. Make sure to protect all I/O lines with a minimum of RC filtering. Consider more significant protection on problem I/O lines.
• A large proportion of field failures are caused by failed relay contacts. If relays are continued to be used, consider placing a "snubber" circuit across the contacts of the relay. The snubber circuit comprises of a
resistor and capacitor in series, placed across the relay contacts. This helps to minimize transients across the relay contacts when opening and closing loads, especially inductive in nature, are present. Also make sure that all relays used are of the "sealed", not "open" type.

Suggerimenti specifici a breve termine
• Progettare circuiti a bassa impedenza in tutti i casi possibili.

1.3 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The XXX-XXXXXXX YYY-YYY Phototherapy System can be placed directly on the hood of an incubator, mounted on the XXX-XXXXXXX Rail System or mounted on a Mobile Stand . The phototherapeutic output can be adjusted from white light (lower intensity) to blue light (higher intensity) by moving the color control filter slide located on the front of the unit. The choice of white or blue phototherapy depends upon the needs of the neonate and the preference of the clinician.
The system is activated by pressing and releasing the On/Standby Switch on the front of the unit. Holding the On/Standby until the Power Up Lamp Test has ended (8.8 8.8 for approximately 5 seconds) will cause the Bulb Life Timer to be displayed. The Bulb Life Time can be distinguished from the Exposure Time display because all the decimal points are lit and none flash.
The Bulb Life Timer can be used to plan preventive maintenance by displaying the total elapsed time that the bulbs have been in use.
When On, pressing and holding the On/Standby Switch for 5 seconds will reset the Exposure Time to 0.
NOTE: Exposure Time continues at the count it was at when last placed on Standby.
Pressing and releasing the On/Standby Switch, within 5 seconds will place the YYY-YYY Phototherapy System in Standby (the lights will go off and the fan will run for approximately 3 minutes).
Self-contained UV and IR filters reduce the range of electromagnetic wavelengths transmitted to the neonate. An internal fan cools the system to maintain internal and surface temperatures at an appropriate level.
1.4 SOFTWARE LEVEL
When the unit is powered up, it performs a self-test (8.8 8.8) and presents a number in the Exposure Time Delay (example: d.05). This number represents the revision level of the software contained in your unit. Please have this number available when inquiring about operation or technical information.

di tutta l’It d’azienda

singoli pezzi

Oracle
The E-Business Suite is Proposed for the Full Automation of Processes
Oracles Attempts to Take Over
the Entire Information Technology Business
Even a portal of business intelligence is launched
to take advantage of a unified data infrastructure
With a single E-Business Suite it is possible to achieve greater automation. With a single database scalable, reliable and state of the art, it is possible to acquire more information at a lower price.
These were the most important messages delivered by Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle, and by the members of his team, at the Oracle AppsWorld Conference recently held in Amsterdam. The event coincided with the 18 months of E-Business Suite 1 IT for which in that occasion was announced the release of Daily Business Close, a portal of business intelligence that can be personalized to suit different purposes.
The Oracle’s managers emphasized the coverage reached by the E-Business Suite. Mr. Ellison stated that “it satisfies all processes for most of the vertical markets. In some sectors, where we have some functional gaps, we turn to partners, for whom the development of the applications is easier because it is only necessary to write [code] in Java on our database. Instead”, Mr. Ellison insinuated, “other competitors must use complex collages in order to integrate various solutions.”

Software the Same Way
As You Eat
[Inscription below the picture]
You can buy the suite of
Ellison’s firm the same
way as you buy pizza: whole
or in individual pieces.
By means of the pizza’s metaphor, Oracle proposes the E-Business Suite in two different ways: whole or in pieces, and even if in the Oracle market the latter is still the more prevalent, the company bets on the former. What prompts this is the fact that the software house is still primarily a provider of basic technology: databases and application servers. Mr. Ellison stated that with respect to sales revenues, the business database could be overtaken by that of the applications and this could happen in 2005. Control of the basic technology allows Oracle to launch a new vision: the vision of the Unified Information Infrastructure, on the basis of which, it is possible to stop arguing in favor of particular applications (marketing, operational CRM (Customer Relationship Management), ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) procurement and so forth), in order to instead think in terms of Business Flow that can be easily implemented thanks to the basic data shared by all the areas of business.

• regolatori di flusso a 3 vie, compensati, con comando elettrico e controllo massima pressione del lato prioritario: l’Oil Control S.p.A. ne presenta quattro versioni che differiscono per le dimensioni e quindi per la portata massima in ingresso e la portata massima regolabile;
• regolatori di flusso prioritari compensati a doppia entrata (2 by-pass) con comando elettrico e controllo massima pressione del lato prioritario, disponibili anche in questo caso in quattro diverse versioni per coprire efficacemente un ampio campo di portate;
• regolatori di flusso compensati, comandati dal manipolatore;
AB = sezione di passaggio E B
AP = sezione di passaggio E P
e = errore di compensazione
PB = pressione lato by-pass
PE = pressione in ingresso
PP = pressione all'uscita prioritaria
QB = portata lato by-pass
QE = portata in ingresso
QP = portata all'uscita prioritaria
= diametro spola di compensazione
K = costante molla
Keffl. = coefficiente d’efflusso
x = corsa della spola di compensazione
x0 = precarica della molla

Flow Control Valve
Study of the Performance of a 3-way Flow Control Valve, with Pressure Compensated Priority Port, Electrically [solenoid] operated, with Control of the Maximum Pressure of the Priority Port and G 3/4 Ports
Below are reported. step by step. the studies conducted on the fixed - flow 3-way flow control valve with G 3/4 ports.
What is involved is the first valve from which ensued an extensive study that led to the renewal of the entire range (Fig 1) of flow control valves utilized in earthmoving machinery. It was preferred to discuss the study conducted on the first valve analyzed because it is the most interesting.
Basically, the above range is comprised of the following four different types of valves:
• 3-way flow control valves, pressure compensated, solenoid operated, and with control of the maximum pressure of the side with the priority port. The Oil Control S.p.a. offers four such versions of different sizes and, consequently, with different maximum inlet flows and maximum adjustable flow rates.
• Double inlet (2 by-pass) flow control valves, with pressure compensated priority port, solenoid operated and with control of the maximum pressure of the side with the priority port. In this case they are as well available in four different versions so that they can effectively cover an ample range of flow rates.
• Flow control valves, pressure compensated and operated by means of hand knobs.
• Flow control valves, pressure compensated, for load-sensing installations.
The subject valve is suitable for a maximum inlet flow rate of 200 l /min (52.8 gpm), a maximum adjusted flow rate of 140 l /min (37 gpm), a maximum pressure of up to 350 bar ( 5,076 psi) in the by-pass port and a maximum pressure of up to 210 bar (3,046 psi) (or if, needed, up to 350 bar (5,076 psi)) in the regulated port.
Now let us address the analysis conducted by covering in succession the ten [development] steps indicated above, preceded by a brief legend that will facilitate understanding of the symbols used:
Ab = Flow area E → B
Ap = Flow area E → P
Af = Flow area set by means of the adjustable faucet
e = Compensation error
Pb = Pressure in the by-pass side
Pe = Inlet pressure
Pi = Pressure upstream of the throttle control
Pp = Pressure at the priority outlet
QB = Flow rate in the by-pass side
QE = Inlet flow rate
Qp = Flow rate at the priority outlet
Φ = Diameter of the compensation shuttle
K = Spring constant
keff = Outflow coefficient
x = Stroke of the compensation shuttle
x0 = Spring preload

Gent. Dott. XXXXXXX
Cordialmente,
Dr. ZZZZZZZ ZZZZ, MD

Dear Dr. XXXXXXX
Ms YYYYYYYYY YYYYYYYY who suffers from dermatomyositis now in a remission phase, has come to be under our observation in order to be evaluated in the expectation of a possible treatment with estro-progestinic drugs. Before searching for possible thrombophilia, however, I consider necessary an assessment by the consulting immunologist because the above treatment, by itself, causes a slight increase in the risk of thrombosis even in patients that are not carriers of hereditary thrombophilia.
I would suggest checking for PC (chronic pancreatitis), PS (pulmonary stenosis), APCR
(active resistance to protein C), together with the prothrombin gene, LAC (lupus anticoagulant) and antiphospholipid antibodies (if it has not already been done), but only after the immunologist has given an opinion in favor of such treatment.
Sincerely,
[Illegible initials]
