Presentamos aquí una serie de artículos, fotografías, diapositivas y poemas escritos por el propio Nobel, para acercarnos brevemente al hombre cuyos variados intereses son reflejados en el premio que fundó. | Translation - English Since 1901, the Nobel Prize has awarded men and women around the world for their outstanding achievements in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and peace. The foundation that grants this award was founded in 1895, when Alfred Nobel destined great part of his fortune to the Nobel Prize foundation in his last will and testament. But, Who is Alfred Nobel? Here are a series of articles, photographs, slides and poems written by Nobel himself, that will briefly bring us closer to the man whose numerous interests are reflected in the awards he founded. |

Source text - English Active classroom participation is important in promoting affective learning. Through active engagement in classroom, students learn to think critically and enhance their intellectual development. This study focuses on classroom participation of international students (adults and young adults from abroad). Students were asked to respond to questions on the lecturer traits that shape their participation and other factors that encouraged or discouraged their classroom participation. The results strongly endorse that lecturers play a great role in promoting student participation. The factors that are most effective in promoting international students’ participation and their patterns of participation in class are also discussed. Suggestions are offered to lecturers regarding future teaching strategies for international students. | Translation - Spanish La participación active en el aula es importante para promover el aprendizaje efectivo. A través del compromiso activo en el aula, los alumnos aprenden a pensar de un modo crítico y mejorar su desarrollo intelectual. El estudio se centra en la participación en clase de alumnos internacionales (adultos y jóvenes adultos extranjeros). Se les pidió a los alumnos responder preguntas sobre los rasgos del profesor que forman su participación y otros factores que fomentan o desaniman su participación en la clase. Los resultados avalan fuertemente que los profesores juegan un papel muy importante a la hora de animar a los alumnos a participar. También se comentan los factores que son más efectivos a la hora de promocionar la participación de estudiantes internacionales y sus patrones de participación en la clase. Se ofrecen sugerencias a los profesores con respecto a las estrategias de enseñanza del futuro para los alumnos internacionales. |
