Source text - Romanian 1. Produsul zara se poate folosi în amestecul de îngheţată cu succes, dar nu are voie să contribuie cu mai mult de 6% substanţă uscată negrasă. Depăşind această limită apare un gust dezagreabil. Acest gust nespecific apărut (de fiert consistenţă nisipoasă) se datorează aportului mare în lactoză a zarei comparativ cu celelalte componente care se accentuază în urma tratamentului termic de amestec la îngheţată (pasteurizarea la 85°C cu menţinere 15-20 min). Aceste efecte se constată şi în cazul fabricării unui lapte concentrat a cărui aport de lactoză provine din laptele, materie primă.
Translation - English 1. Buttermilk can be successfully used in the ice-cream mixture, but it cannot contribute to it with more than 6% non-fat dry substance. Exceeding this limit will result in an unpleasant taste. This unspecific taste (of something boiled, with sandy consistency) is due to the great share of lactose contained by buttermilk, compared to the other constituents that increase following the thermic treatment of mixing it to ice-cream (pasteurisation at 85°C, maintaining it 15-20 min). These effects are also noticed while producing evaporated milk whose share of lactose results from the raw material milk.

I have been translating/ interpreting for international corporations (Groupe Société Générale, UPC, Books Unlimited, Electrica - now Enel - and others), important Romanian bodies (such as the Directorate for the Investigation of Organised Crime and Terrorism, Border Police, The German State Theatre of Timisoara), notarial offices, private companies, natural persons, etc.
In 2007, I co-published the book 'Translating the Body' (Lincom, München), which also contains an English-Romanian dictionary alphabetically organised according to specific body parts.
In 2006, I enjoyed collaborating with EPSO, Brussels, as a linguistic administrator to help select Romanian translators for European Union Offices.
