I am a writer and graphic designer whose work has appeared over the years in Playboy, Best American Short Stories, Library of America's "Writing Los Angeles," and many other publications. I administer newsroom-l, an email discussion list for journalists. I've lived and worked in Mexico since 1981, in Cancun since 1983. You can read more about me than you will need to know in several lifetimes here
I have extensive experience in marketing work in Mexico, beginning in 1983 as a public relations consultant to FONATUR, the government agency that financed and developed Cancun. I subsequently carried out marketing projects for political parties, labor unions, print and broadcast media, and private sector entrepreneurs.
I have translated broadcast and promotional TV documentaries, book-length contemporary history, advertisements and brochures, and medical and technical translations, including translating 235 pages of automobile engineers talking about their craft (and their lives) as they worked at their computers. I would be ideal for literary projects of any kind. I can deliver the work in any format, from plain text all the way through to a fully-designed, ready-to-print magazine or book, including a marketing plan and materials.
My rates vary according to the characteristics of the project, with a base of .10 Euro per source word.
