I have leveraged my background in academics and international business in my work as a translator and voice-over artist.
After earning my Ph.D. in Spanish literature and teaching at the college level, I worked as a bilingual technical writer, international marketing-communications manager, and international business-development director with extensive experience in Latin America. I have conceived and directed multilingual communications campaigns and made business and marketing presentations to customers, colleagues, trade-show audiences, and the press throughout Latin America and Europe.
My voice-over experience includes marketing and training videos for high-tech companies such as Symbol Technologies (now Motorola), Siemens, Databit, and Zoll Medical.
I'm a member of the American Translators Association (ATA). As a freelance translator and translation-agency executive, I've translated and adapted commercial and corporate scripts, along with a wide variety of marketing and technical documents, for use by organizations as diverse as The Nielsen Company, the IRS, and KidsHealth. And in the sound studio, I have directed videos and voice-over recording sessions for many of those same organizations.
