Oleh karena itu seorang Teknisi Akses Tali, perlu memahami hukum alam ini, agar mampu melakukan upaya-upaya keselamatan sehingga dapat terhindar dari akibat yang fatal seandainya terjatuh dan sistim penahan jatuh (fall arrester) bekerja.
Akibat jatuh dapat berupa pengalaman yang tidak menyenangkan bahkan traumatis, sakit, cidera, cacat sampai meninggal dunia.
