Source text - English Helicobacter Pylori infection has a worlwide distribution, but is much more common in developing countries where more than half the population are infected by the age of ten years, the incidence of infection rising to over 80% in young adults. In developed countries, there is a gradual rise in prevalence through life, reaching 70% in the seventh decade. The most important risk factor for Helicobacter Pylori besides age is socioeconomic deprivation. Many factors have been researched in this regard, but they all have low economic status as a common denominator.
