I am an ATA certified Spanish to English translator, as well as an attorney and a member of the California and Washington State Bar associations. I am currently doing translation work on a project basis with several language agencies. Additionally, I am a Washington State certified medical and social services Spanish interpreter.
From 2006 to 2008, I worked as an attorney/translator at the Mexico City law firm Basham, Ringe y Correa , where I reported directly to Javier Becerra, author of the Dictionary of Mexican Legal Terminology (Spanish/English). I later worked as a contract attorney at the Seattle law firm Perkins Coie, where I performed translation work as requested, including the translation of documents relating to an SEC investigation of a major Northwest company with offices in Mexico.
My most recent training consisted of one month at Pop Wuj Spanish School and Clinic in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, in May 2017. The program focused on Medical Spanish training and involved regular interpretation and shadowing at the school's low cost medical clinic. |
