English to Portuguese: Virus General field: Science Detailed field: Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-)
Translation - Portuguese First, we should know viruses are unique beings. Classifying them as living or non-living beings still presents a challenge in the science community, and "choosing a side" depends on the argument you use. On the one hand, viruses can be classified as non-living beings because they're not made up of cells and don't have their own metabolism; on the other hand, we can classify viruses as living beings because they present genetic material and other essential components living beings have, such as proteins, as well as being subjected to evolutionary processes.

Bio
I'm graduated in Biology and have been teaching kids and teenagers for almost 13 years. Thus, I have a very solid background in education and biological sciences. In all of these years, I have achieved many successful goals, like projecting my students into international academic competitions but, personally, getting to meet them after their graduation and knowing they've accomplished their dreams and are happy is the greatest award for someone who loves teaching.
Despite my graduation in Biology, I've always loved learning new languages. I learnt english on my own, lending my cousin's books and studying by myself. At the present time, I'm also studying italian. For me, that's more than acquiring knowledge, it's much pleasurable for me.
So, with that in mind, I want to grow and stabilize my career as a translator in the next few years. I already did some jobs as a freelancer, like translating medical manuals and translating and subtitling some episodes of TV series. I've also made some volunteer translations of TEDxTalks videos.
