Born and raised in the vibrant and multicultural island of Mayotte, I was fortunate to grow up bilingual, speaking both Gujrati and French. This early exposure to different languages and cultures laid the foundation for my lifelong passion for translation. As I embarked on my academic journey, my interest in language continued to flourish, leading me to study in Toulouse (France) and Galway (Ireland). Ultimately, I achieved a significant milestone in my career by completing a master's degree in research at the prestigious Sorbonne University in Paris (France). Throughout these experiences, my appreciation for language and its ability to bridge cultural divides only grew stronger, solidifying my dedication to pursuing a career as a freelance translator. Over the course of my career, I've had the privilege of working with several publishing houses, where I not only refined my translation skills but also gained valuable insights into the publishing industry as a whole. This experience has allowed me to understand the intricacies of the publishing process and appreciate the importance of accurate and culturally sensitive translations. In addition to my expertise in French and English, I have also cultivated proficiency in Hindi, which has enabled me to expand my skillset to include subtitling Hindi content into French or English. I find this work particularly rewarding as it allows me to bring rich, diverse content to new audiences and bridge linguistic and cultural gaps. I am excited to continue helping people and businesses connect across languages, one word at a time. |
