Source text - English Let me begin with my deep regard for you. It is long since we left Lahore. In spite of my strong desire I could not write you earlier than this time. After our arrival at Dacca, Moulana Sb. started for home for some days. We declared 7th Aug as the anti-public safety act day. Though I had a mind to go to meet my parents and children yet I could not because of the preparation for the 7th. All the opposition parties and groups and student organisations supported us. Peaceful meetings and resolutions for the unconditional release of all political prisoners & repeal of safety act were passed. The day was observed throughout the province.
Translation - Bengali শুরুতেই আপনার প্রতি আমার গভীর শ্রদ্ধা জ্ঞাপন করছি। আমরা লাহোর ছেড়ে চলে আসার পর দীর্ঘ সময় অতিবাহিত হয়েছে। আমার প্রবল ইচ্ছা থাকা সত্ত্বেও আজকের আগে আপনাকে লিখতে পারিনি। ঢাকায় আসার পর মওলানা সাহেব কিছু দিনের জন্য বাড়িতে গেছেন। আমরা ৭ই আগস্টকে ‘জননিরাপত্তা বিরোধী আইন দিবস’ হিসেবে ঘোষণা করেছিলাম। বাবা-মা ও সন্তানদের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে যাওয়ার জন্য মনস্থির করলেও ৭ তারিখের উক্ত দিবস পালনের প্রস্তুতির কারণে তা পারিনি। সকল বিরোধী দল, বিভিন্ন গোষ্ঠী ও ছাত্র সংগঠন আমাদের সমর্থন করেন। সকল রাজনৈতিক বন্দীদের নিঃশর্ত মুক্তি এবং নিরাপত্তা আইন বাতিলের জন্য শান্তিপূর্ণ সভা এবং প্রস্তাবনা (রেজুলেশন) পাশ করা হয়। গোটা প্রদেশে দিবসটি পালিত হয়।
