Translation - English Progressive Education is a model of education and educative experiences which rather than obedience and conformity encourages creativity, critical thinking, and cooperation. As will be explained subsequently, this focus on the creative and critical through expressions such art, didactic workshops, and dialogue groups, was what drew me from progressive education at large to specific components of peace education such as historic memory education and institutions.
Specifically, education forms and institution types which bring individuals from different identities and experiences into spaces where new in-groups and loyalties are formed through the reward of gaining new information, being and feeling heard, creating a sense of safety and security, as well as feeling valued for sharing their individual human experiences and personal knowledge.
English to Italian: Towards positive peace in Colombia Peace and Historical Memory Education in the Transitional Justice Process General field: Social Sciences
Source text - English Structures, in this case, can be defined as the interaction throughout time between two or more entities. Structures that are created based on the interactions and social engagement can be transformed into new relations and modus operandi that happen in that structure’s interior. Therefore, a system of peace; that is a system that promotes pacifist values, could be transformed by new interactions that happen within that peaceful system into one of indifference or violence. Just as the peaceful societal structure is founded on both negative peace (the absence of violent conflict), as well as positive peace (the creation of institutions which uphold and promote social justice, political participation, and cultural diversity among others). These forms that a society creates, hence, determine the structure erected or the reality of that society.
Translation - English The Museo Casa de la Memoria (MCM) was established in 2006 born from an initiative of the Program of Attention to Victims of the Armed Conflict (Programa de Atención a Víctimas del Conflicto Armado de la Alcaldía de Medellín) of the Mayor's Office of Medellín. With the aim of contributing to the exercise of memory by promoting open, plural, critical and reflective scenarios of dialogue for understanding and overcoming the armed conflict and violence in Medellín, Antioquia and the nation from a pluralistic approach; recognizing the diverse voices which comprise it.
Located at the very heart of the city, where memories of the experiences of armed conflict posses a physical and symbolic space. The museum has consolidated itself as an actor in cultural transformation. It is a political project, both pedagogical and social, inclusive and representative, which contributes to the transformation of the logic of war towards re-discovering hope and envisioning alternative possible futures.
Unlike other memory museums around the world which attempt to find ways to heal the relation between a country and its past of war or dictatorship, the Museo Casa de la Memoria (MCM) deals with memories of a conflict which is still alive and recounting recent history. For this reason, the Museum is a home with open doors for the memories and the stories of victims, for reflection and the awareness of all citizens.
It is a welcoming space through its exhibitions, interactive curatorship, workshops, conferences, concerts, theatre plays and experimental productions that invite one to learn about events of the past that have marked the present, so that pain may reveal its lessons and not be repeated; so that we may build a culture based on respect and the value of life.

Bio
I am a multi-national and multi-lingual academic with a strong professional background in higher education, politics, environmental rights, community engagement, and company management. Trained and experienced with teaching human rights at the University level as well as languages in high end institutions and centres. Born in London to a Colombian family, I mainly grew up around the world in countries including the USA, Colombia, Korea, Italy, and across Europe at large. I therefore mainly grew up speaking English and Spanish natively and learning Italian fluently at a very young age. I dedicated myself to my studies in International Relations (B.A) due to my keen interest on trans-cultural and cross-language relations which marked much of my formational development. This then developed my interest in proper communication and bridge-building from a socio-cultural perspective, leading me to achieve two M.A´s in International Peace and Conflict studies, with a high focus on non-violent communication and education as a form of generational conflict management. After working in the Colombian government during the 2012 peace negotiations where much of the effort´s focus was given to educational empowerment, I then spend most of my professional career working in International Universities in Florence, Italy. Managing, directing, administrating and leading teams and offices in the Admissions, Student Life, and Community Engagement departments of Universities such as New York, Florida State, Florence University of the Arts and Syracuse University at the highest levels alongside program directors and leaders of the civil society an Florentine community. More recently I have worked passionately and diligently as and English professor in high end companies such as Wall Street English and the Carl Duisberg institute while providing thesis review and academic tutoring to university students in the fields of Social Sciences, Peace Studies and Social Work. As such, my entire career has seen me employ translation and interpretation work in the languages of English, Italian and Spanish at an extensive level, from the international American university scene in Italy, to the Latin American political scene as well as German language learning and empowerment scene more recently.
