Portuguese to English: Vaccine manufacturers are not liable for adverse events General field: Law/Patents Detailed field: Law (general)
Translation - English In short: case law has settled the understanding to the effect that, in cases of these campaigns, vaccine manufacturers are not liable for adverse effects, since these effects do not result from any type of defect or flaw in the vaccine (nor in the provision of information, as will be seen, since the vaccine is chosen and administered by the Public Authorities). This is why cases of adverse effects, which are inevitable, are part of the risk that is inherent to the very administrative activity of mass vaccination campaigns. It is no coincidence that the governing legislation and case law, mentioned in the preamble, are correct upon indicating that the Public Authorities are solely liable.
