English to Japanese: Mutual Respect in the Workplace
Source text - English ABC is committed to providing a work environment where all employees can experience mutual respect and work together comfortably and productively. To ensure this, ABC prohibits the harassment of any of its employees on any basis, including but not limited to, race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, medical condition, and veteran or marital status or any other protected class. Similarly, ABC will not tolerate harassment by employees of non-employees with whom the company has a business, service, or professional relationship. ABC will also attempt to protect employees from harassment by non-employees in its workplace.
Current legal interpretation considers harassment to have occurred if a reasonable person would find comments or conduct offensive or unwelcome. Whether or not a person meant to give offense or believed their comments or conduct were welcome is not significant.
Harassing conduct can take many forms and includes, but is not limited to, slurs, epithets, threats, derogatory comments, unwelcome jokes, teasing, intimidation, negative stereotyping, threats, assault, sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and any other similar contact. This prohibition applies to all forms of communication - verbal, written, electronic, or physical.

Bio
I have worked as a bi-cultural English/Japanese translator since 1989. Areas I work in include: marketing, management, online surveys, consumer web content, online QA, tourism, environment, general business and consumer-oriented material, import/export, direct mailing.
I have corporate and non-profit experience both in US and Japan since 1985. My corporate background includes Japanese export and direct mail consulting, web content and product development, client relationship management. Non-profit background includes historic preservation, environmental protection and sustainable development, as well as Japanese local government work in international relations.
I have a track record of on-time or early delivery of culturally-sensitive translation, and of complete follow-through. I enjoy long-term relationships with clients by providing quick and thorough responses to any issues that may arise in a project, and by paying attention not only to the details of the translation itself, but also to the requirements of the project as a total package. Project managers can place projects with me with confidence.
