Bio

My background is in engineering: I have a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in the automotive sector (particularly vehicle dynamics). I have also worked in industry as a design engineer for a motorsport venue design consultancy, where I was involved in work that primarily straddled the disciplines of civil and mechanical engineering, while also working closely with architects. During my time there I was fortunate to be able to work with Spanish-speaking clients and sub-contractors in both Mexico (on-site) and Miami (remotely).

I studied Spanish up to a C1 level and beyond through school, continued private tutoring and through practice with native speakers, particularly in Spain. I have completed a Translation course through The Translator's Studio, an accredited provider run by chartered linguists. The course taught me the translation process from start to finish to ensure an end product for the client of the highest standard. I recently took the Chartered Institute of Linguists' Certificate of Translation exam receiving a Distinction in both the General unit and the Government and Public Service unit, which proves my ability to translate to a professional standard.

As well as my engineering background, I have a keen interest in geography, particularly urban planning and public transportation, motorsport, tennis, badminton, gaming, AI & computer programming, the environment and human rights.
