Bio
Because of my long-time passion for and sense of language during life, I've just decided to fulfill a dream and start taking assignments as a translator. These days I'm fulfilling my education at The Translator Academy - Learning how to become a freelance translator. During my whole grown-up life, I've been practicing as a guide, interpreter, and proofreader, both private and in my job. In my job in the employment and welfare administration, it was my job to present written reports and decisions. I was always concerned about writing grammatically correct and fluently. This job also gave me a great deal of experience in proofreading.
As young, I chose to spend a year outside Paris to work as an au pair and to learn the language. This was after finishing my French, English, and German language studies in an upper secondary school home in Norway.
Besides being especially fond of learning languages, I'm passionate about working in the garden and going to flea markets collecting antiques and retro things. I'm also curious about culture, and history, and enjoy reading. I also enjoy cooking and baking.
If you choose to cooperate with me I can offer you excellent quality translations into my native language, Norwegian. It will be possible for me to work a lot in periods, like using evenings, weekends and holidays, if a job needs to be finished.
Working as a freelance translator suits me very well because this kind of work makes it possible for me to work whenever and wherever I want to. I can work more in periods and less in others - and I can work in different places. Working like this gives me flexibility and freedom and increases productivity.
Can translate within a great variety of texts - public documentation and decisions, instructions for use (IFU), and subtitles, for instance.
