Bio
ENGLISH:
I grew up with MTV, NBC and American series like Saved by the Bell and Married with Children, so I became fluent in English before I even left Romania for the first time. I began my translation career in high school by translating song lyrics for my classmates who couldn't speak English. I translated lyrics from bands as diverse as the Bee Gees, Take That, East 17 and Guns 'n' Roses, loool! Then I went on to obtain a B.A. degree with a major in English Language and Literature from an American university. For the past 23 years, I have lived in places where English is the main language of communication, such as the USA and the UAE, so I can safely and confidently rate my English skills as suitable for any type of translation project.
ROMANIAN:
Based on my recent interaction with other Romanians, I believe that my Romanian is better than that of most other Romanians, perhaps thanks to the strong foundation that I received throughout my formal education as well as my habit of reading in Romanian on a daily basis, which keeps me updated on new words and changes in the language.
SPANISH:
I learned Spanish on and off since I was a child because I liked it, but didn't need it for anything, so I never got too deeply into Spanish until 2017, when my employer at the time started doing business with some Spanish businesspeople. I offered to translate and interpret for our Spanish clients and couldn't believe how good my Spanish was. I was blasting through the translations without barely ever looking up a word and the interpretation assignments were pure fun, so I realized that I could use my Spanish skills professionally and here I am!
