My name is Roberta Cardoso Chaves. I am a translator and interpreter accredited by Paraná Justice Court, Brazil, since January 2021 (English to Brazilian Portuguese).

I am interested in working for you as a freelance translator. I have translated for local small business who want to set up their first E-commerce Store. This kind of employment appeared due to the Corona Virus pandemic in March 2020, and they have increased my skills as a translator because of the variety of content I have worked with.

I have a background as a Doctor in Science: I am a Ph.D. in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering. As a researcher, we learn to visualize and analyze the problem within its context, and we also learn how and where to find the answers for it. Therefore, even if the translation content is outside my comfort zone, I will know how and where to look for suitable resources that can help me to do the job properly.

I believe that a well-done translation is one that conveys exactly the message, not just an exchange of words from one language to another.

A skill I have gotten from years of studies in telecommunications, in addition to the technological part, it was to learn that, in an exchange of messages between the client and the user, the message received is always what the user understood about what was sent to him by the client.

This way understanding the exact message the customer wants to convey is critical. In a second moment, it is necessary to analyze if the transmitted message is satisfactory, that is, it is being understood by the user as expected. Business depends on this exchange of messages well done. That is why the translator's job is so important.

So, I would like to say that I am a very responsible person and flexible translator; also, I am becoming proficient in CAT Tools. Besides, I am a persistent and adaptive person. I like reading and learning new skills. I would be honored work with you. I am sure the result would satisfy you.
