I remember…the kindness of thy youth (Jeremiah 2:2)
Am I as spontaneously kind to God as I used to be, or am I only expecting God to be kind to me? Am I full of the little things that cheer His heart over me, or am I whimpering because things are going badly with me? There is no joy in the soul that has forgotten what God prizes. It is a great thing to think that Jesus Christ has need of me- “Give me to drink.” How much kindness have I shown Him in the past one week? Have I been kind to his reputation in my life?
God is saying to His people- ‘You are not in love with me now, but I remember the time you were.’ “I remember the love of thine espousals.” Ama I as full of extravagance of love to Jesus as I was in the beginning, when I went out of my way to prove my devotion to Him? Does He mind me recalling the time I did not care for anything but Himself? Am I there now, or have I become wise over loving Him? Am I so in love with Him that I take no account of where I go? Or I watching for the respect due me, weighing how much I ought to give?
If I recall what God remembers about me, I find He is not what He used to be to me, let it produce shame and humiliation, because that shame will bring the godly sorrow that works repentance.

Thanks for visiting and considering my profile. I am a native Gîkûyû, a speaker of Meetumi, the purest Gîkûyû dialect. Growing up in Mûrang'a County, I learnt reading and writing Gîkûyû in grade 1-3. I grew up reading the Gîkûyû Bible, studied catechism in Gîkûyû, and developed a passion for written and spoken Gîkûyû. I have read almost 100% of books written in the Gîkûyû language, mainly fiction and religious books.
I have great mastery of English and Gîkûyû. I am a prolific reader and a proficient writer of both languages. The most extensive work I have undertaken was editing and proofreading the electronic version of the Gîkûyû Bible for the Bible Society of Kenya (over 2400 pages). I have translated hundreds of documents in the English/Kikuyu language pair, preached numerous sermons, written songs, poems and eulogies in Gîkûyû, and interpreted hundreds of messages for non-natives.
I am a holder of a Bachelors degree in Theology, and a Master of Arts degree. I've had a checkered career spanning over 30 years in Church ministry, university administration, counselling centre management, leadership consultancy, motivational speaking, writing both English and Gîkûyû, translating, and interpreting.
