Source text - English I started my journey of translation when I was young. I always wanted to know more about languages and cultures. Through the years I have learned that language and culture goes hand in hand. So when translating and interpreting it is very important to take the culture into consideration. It is also vital to know the intent of the source language in order to convey the same meaning in the target language. So it is my duty as a translator to use easy to understand language, so that the translation can be understood easily by the readers. The source language and the target language may be different, but the meaning of the source should always be maintained.
I grew up in a town called Mutare in Zimbabwe. Growing up, I always had a passion for languages, so I started venturing into this career in 2010, translating songs and articles into my native language Shona. I am also good at interpreting. Over the years I have been trained through different language courses and I have never stopped learning about translation. I can translate various topics because I have worked on different kinds of projects from web material to printed material. I will be glad to keep working and growing in this field.
