I am Brazilian with Spanish nationality. I hold a B.A. in Translation (English,
Portuguese, Spanish) from the State University of São Paulo (UNESP) in São José
do Rio Preto/SP, Brazil. I graduated in 1997, and the Ministry of Education and
Science of Spain recognizes that this higher degree is equivalent to those
obtained in Spain. Since then, I have never stopped looking for means to keep on developing and
growing as a professional. In 1998, I started the master’s program in
Linguistics at UNESP, in Araraquara/SP, Brazil. During the master’s course, I taught
at several private universities. I also served as Examiner in Tests for
Obtaining the DELE proficiency Diploma in Brazil. I was a member of the
Examining Board for hiring Portuguese teachers at the National University of
Entre Ríos – Argentina. I was also a member of the Board of Examiners of master’s
and doctorate’s degree candidates at UNESP, in Franca and Araraquara, Brazil. I
had the opportunity to teach two Post-Graduate Courses (Translation in English,
Spanish, Portuguese and Textual Cohesion and Coherence) for students at the
National University of Córdoba, Argentina. In 2000 I passed the Public Exam to
become a Sworn Translator in Brazil (Spanish and Portuguese), and to date I
have translated more than 70,000 pages. In January 2001, I received my Master’s
Degree, and in 2005 I received my Ph.D. degree in Linguistics from UNESP, Araraquara,
Brazil. During the Ph.D. program, I took on-site Spanish courses at the
University of Barcelona and the University of Salamanca, as well as on-site
English courses at private institutions such as Alumni, in Brazil. I am a full
member of the Brazilian Association of Conference Interpreters (APIC), and I
work as an interpreter in several international conferences. I currently work
with technical and sworn translations in Spanish, Portuguese and English, and I
work as an interpreter in several international meetings and conferences. To
date, I have worked over 400 days as a conference interpreter.
