Chinese to Russian: A chapter from a modern mainland Chinese sci-fi fiction work General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Poetry & Literature
Source text - Chinese
Chinese to English: A 2013 Chinese FM statement General field: Social Sciences Detailed field: Government / Politics
Translation - English Foreign Ministry: Chinese Government Resolutely Opposes New Nuclear Test by DPRK
Statement by the Foreign Ministry of the People’s Republic of China
On February 12, 2013, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea conducted a nuclear test again, regardless of widespread protests by international community. The Chinese government expresses its resolute opposition to this.
Realizing denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, preventing nuclear proliferation, and defending peace and stability of Northeast Asia are the firm position of the Chinese side. We intensely urge the DPRK party to abide by commitments and to take no action which may aggravate the situation.
Defending peace and stability of the peninsula and Northeast Asia corresponds with common interests of all parties. The Chinese government vows for calm response by all parties, supports dialogue and consultations and solving the denuclearization issue of the peninsula under the conditions of Six-Party Talks.
