I've translated for government and research institutions, international academic and cultural events, and large businesses such as Samsung and Hyundai.
Most of my translation projects were for publishing, rather than for information. Some of my larger assignments include the Encyclopedia of Korean Culture (translation and editing) and the National Museum of Korea information panels (translation). I also subtitled a dozen feature films.
Besides freelance translating and editing, I've worked as in-house editor/translator with a newspaper, a publishing company, a patent law firm, and a government agency dedicated to planning and managing energy technology R&D.
I was awarded my professional translator certificate (highest level) by the Korean Society of Translators (KSA). I acquired my Master's from the Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. After working on subtitle editing and translation for Netflix, Deluxe, and a specialized film festival (architecture and landscaping), I've furthered my subtitling experience on online conference translation (audio to subtitles mostly). |
